The kinds of names on our shelf
We do not publish a list. A name offered to everyone is offered to no one in particular, and the company it suits would be competing with strangers for it. Here instead is what the names have in common.
Every name here is set exactly as customers would type it.
Four families
What it is
The everyday word for a product or a line of products, the one on the shelf label rather than the catalogue code.
What they do
A trade or a service said the way a customer says it: the job, not the job title.
Where and what
A town or region joined to a trade, for businesses whose customers look for someone nearby.
Short and firm-like
One or two words that read as a company name and happen to match one that already trades under it.
One company in mind for each name, never a crowd.
What you will not find
Names built on someone else's brand or trademark. Misspellings meant to catch another company's visitors. Hyphens, digits and long strings of keywords. Anything we would not be comfortable seeing on the side of your delivery van.
Struck before it reaches the shelf.
Ask about a particular name
If there is a .com you want, tell me which. If we hold it, you get an answer about availability and a figure. If we do not, I will say so plainly rather than try to sell you something close to it.
Tell me the name and a line about your business.
